Terra Alta, a fun trail for children at Lac de Guéry
If there is one trail to do with children at Lac de Guéry, it is the Terra Alta. This trail offers families the opportunity to discover the fauna, flora and landscapes while having fun. Allow between 45 minutes and 2 hours for the visit.

The highest lake in Auvergne (1244 m above sea level), Lac de Guéry is accessible all year round on foot or on snowshoes, departing from the Col de Guéry car park.
Near rocks Tuilière and Sanadoire, this lake of 25 hectares and 16 meters deep, is a classified site and labeled Sensitive Natural Area. It is located at the convergence of several municipalities (Orcival, Mont-Dore, Saulzet-le-Froid and Perpezat).

Activities at Lake Guéry
From spring, Lake Guéry lends itself particularly well to family outings. Marked circuits, from 20 minutes to 4h30, leave from Cap Guéry Mountain Center. All these circuits also allow you to discover the Guéry waterfall.
You can go around the (developed) Lake of Guéry. But be careful, part of the path goes by the road.

A picnic at Lake Guéry
For afternoon tea or a picnic, you will find many sites around Lake Guéry with views of the volcanoes or the lake. Leave no trace of your passage.

In addition, a kota grill (traditional shelter of the Sami people in Lapland) is available to the public. You can cook your meat on the grill (during the opening hours of the Cap Guéry Mountain Center). The kota grill can also be privatized for a family barbecue evening, on Reservations.
Nature events
At Lac de Guéry, you will have the opportunity to participate in many nature activities. They are intended for everyone and more specifically for families. Remember to book your entertainment.
Fishing is another possible activity to enjoy as a family during your afternoon at Lake Guéry. It is authorized from the 1st Saturday of April. To do this, bring the equipment, remember to buy your fishing license and the fishing option at Lake Guéry (sale of fishing licenses on site when the Center is open). You can fish in the highest lake in Auvergne. In summer, fishing initiations are offered.
