Jardins du Château Dauphin

The Château dominates a rare sunken vegetable garden (classified MH and labeled "remarkable garden"), already existing in the XNUMXth century and a landscaped garden at the foot of lava flows.
The price of the ticket corresponds to a free visit to the vegetable garden described by Montaigne, the landscaped gardens, the tower of the Knight which will give you an overview of the estate. You also have the possibility of walking around the crenellations that delimit the park and the wood and of visiting the outbuildings with tack room, stables and horse-drawn carriages.

Portrait

Heirs to Château-Dauphin, a family property since 1756, we have always endeavored to maintain and enhance this heritage classified as a Historic Monument (castle and garden) with good practices and a lot of difficulties. Wishing to share the richness of this heritage with everyone, we opened it to the public in 1982, 40 years already, 40 years of happiness!

Sustainable tourism

The Château Dauphin commits a little more every year to protect its environment. We no longer use any treatment product for the courtyards, gardens and vegetable patch. Manual or mechanical weeding. Composting of green waste which is then reused in the vegetable garden. We reduce the lighting to a minimum and no longer light the castle in the evening, except on show nights, until the old projectors have been replaced by more economical and efficient LEDs.
We do not sell any consumption (no packaging lying around) and have bins available to the public, so that the classified garden remains welcoming.
