Description

The GR®30 crosses three volcanic regions of Auvergne: the Dore mountains, the Chaîne des Puys and the Cézallier.

In addition to its remarkable natural heritage, the route allows us to see architectural gems testifying to several centuries of history: Romanesque art shines through the Orcival basilica, the Murol castle perpetuates medieval history, the Renaissance flows along the streets of Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise, the thermal baths of Mont-Dore and the surrounding villages are the heritage of the Gallo-Roman and Belle-Époque periods.

Also, the GR®30 testifies to agricultural and pastoral know-how which is found in the local countries: gastronomy, local producers' markets and crafts.
