Via Ferrata du Capucin

Via ferrata: halfway between rock climbing and sporty hiking. Autonomous or supervised practice.
The Via Ferrata is an activity that consists of climbing a mountain or rock wall using facilities installed on the rock (ladder bars, ramps, rope bridge, footbridges, etc.).

Halfway between climbing and sport hiking, the Via Ferrata allows as many people as possible to discover the vertical environment, in complete safety. Less demanding and technical than climbing, this activity does not require great physical condition, only the fear of heights can be a brake.

The first public Via Ferrata in the Puy-de-Dôme department, that of Capucin takes place in a wild setting and on a cliff which enjoys a magnificent view of the entire Haute Dordogne valley and the summit of Puy de Sancy.

With a very moderate difficulty, it is particularly suitable for discovering the activity, with family or friends. It can be practiced independently provided you follow all the safety instructions and have the appropriate equipment. For optimal safety, opt for supervision by a mountain professional to learn the various techniques for progressing in a vertical environment.
