We are in the imaginary Hautes Aigues massif. The small village of Rochebrune has been on alert since regular landslides occurred on the neighboring peaks, linked to climate change... While local stakeholders are wondering about the future of the valley, a mountaineer arrives determined to achieve the ascent of the region's major summit, the Grande Reine, part of which recently collapsed.
We follow in parallel several characters caught in the mountain and confronted with the urgency of the issues that concern it. Everyone will meet at the Vautour refuge, under the summit of the Grande Reine. Fanny, the guardian, looks anxiously at the cliffs which are collapsing around her.
Thanks to this ascent, the panorama of a landscape profoundly disrupted by global warming, and riddled with concerns, gradually unfolds.
Death of a Mountain is a documented chronicle that turns into the mythical. Both concrete and poetic, this slow ascent displays the image of humanity perched on its promontory, on the edge of the precipice...
