The Dordogne

The source of the Dordogne lies at the heart of the Sancy massif, and the spring water from the eastern side of le Puy de Sancy, la Dore, and the water from the western side of le Puy de Cacadogne and la Dogne, come together to form a single river: the Dordogne.

The Dordogne is 483 km in length, passing through Sancy Artense (St-Sauves d’Auvergne, les Gorges d’Avèze) until it forms the Gironde estuary and empties into the Atlantic.
