MÉM / Musée des peintres de l’École de Murol

The museum of the School of painters of Murol is located after Impressionism. Unique in Auvergne, come and discover the snow landscapes and winter scene in the heart of Sancy from the beginning of the XNUMXth century.

This tradition of winter landscape painting is in line with the Flemish and Dutch “Winter Landscape” painters of the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries.
The permanent exhibition presents more than a hundred works.

Each year, the museum hosts a temporary exhibition from June to October.

Exceptionally, from December 20, 2022 to May 21, 2023, the MÉM team is delighted to present its new winter temporary exhibition: "Slobo, Un coeur en Auvergne - Unclassifiable Artist".

The MEM exhibits works that had lain dormant in the back of its studio for several decades, in particular original theatrical scenographies, reproductions of photos, watercolors and washes from its academic period, but also canvases from its travel diary from the 50s and unpublished anecdotes on his artistic journey.

The museum is also for children:

Painting and writing workshops, special children's guided tour...

Every Tuesday from July 11 until the end of August 2023, the MÉM offers guided tours from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (the museum is closed during the visit).

There will also be cultural events such as: video projection, children's workshops……conferences, readings through art.
