To the south-west of Sancy, the plateau of Artense gently undulates its vast plateaus, planed by glaciers.

To the southwest of Massif of Sancy, this country of moors and woods is also that of water. Many basins containing wet meadows, bogs or small lakes alternate with rocky mounds. The farms of Artense hide behind the folds of ground, the groves and the rocks.

The rock is present everywhere: in the habitat, in the middle of the fields and in the innumerable dry stone walls which border the old paths.
