Les roches Tuilière et Sanadoire

An unforgettable memory at the sight of these two rocky peaks – the Tuilière and Sanadoire rocks – which emerge from the Guéry beech forest like two sentinels watching over the glacial valley of Fontsalade. Magnificent panoramas of the glacial valley.

Topo / step by step

1/ At the back of the car park, take the stairs (on the flat side: view of the Sanadoire rock organs); at the bottom, at the crossroads turn left and go straight down to the road. Cross it and head opposite on a small path, until you reach a path on the right (20 m before a small stream).

2/ Follow it, overlooking the street, until you reach the road. Take this on the right for 20 m then go down the path on the left; continue in the woods on the main path. At the intersection, go left, cross the footbridge and go up; At the next T-junction, go left until you reach the road. Cross it and go up the path opposite. After 20 m, at the fork, take the steep slope on the right. On the second flat, at the intersection, go down opposite and continue until you reach a wide path. Follow it to the right until the monastery (bread oven).

3/ Go up the path on the right before the fountain, overlooking the monastery. Go straight ahead, cross two successive stepladders, go down into the woods, leaving a path on the left. At the next stepladder, go around the meadow to the right, to come out on a path. Cross the stepladder and continue straight on the ridge in the forest until the intersection with a wide stony path. Take it to the right for 200 m until you reach a right turn.

4/ Take the path on the left in the bend and go down to the road, follow it to the right for 20 m, then go down to the left along the tarmac path (view of the Puy de l'Ouire and the Tuilière and Sanadoire rocks) . Cross the hamlet of Le Cros on the left then go down towards the stream, cross the footbridge. Go up a stone path, go right along a low stone wall and continue until you reach a T-intersection.

5/ Go up to the left for 50 m then take the path on the right which climbs more steeply. At the T-junction on the flat, go down left for 250 m, then leave this path to take the footbridge on the right. Follow this path in the woods, arriving at a crossroads, continue opposite; after 100 m, at the next intersection, climb the stairs on the left to reach the starting point.
