What is a Green Station?

Station Verte is a tourist label created in 1964.


It is a welcoming territory in the heart of the terroirs. The Green Stations are located both by the sea and in the mountains. There are stays in favor of natural, human and authentic tourism, while respecting the environment. This label currently includes 469 stations in France.

The municipality of Saint Bonnet-pres-Orcival, in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Volcanoes of Auvergne, is located between the Chaîne des Puys (listed as World Heritage by Unesco in 2018) and the highest peak of the Massif Central, the Puy de Sancy which culminates at 1886 m.
Its name comes from its proximity to the city of Orcival, a major place of pilgrimage since the High Middle Ages. The church of Saint Bonnet-près-Orcival was built in the XNUMXth century, on Romanesque remains. It notably contains exceptional stained glass windows by master glassmaker Emile Thibaud.



From the Calvary, you will enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Chaîne des Puys, with the Puy-de-Dôme, the Château de Cordès and the Massif du Sancy.
