For several years, Cie Daruma has been exploring formats, sometimes in performance halls, sometimes outdoors. Its “all-terrain” character is a strength of its choreographic language in the relationships developed between the works and the spectators, between dance and meaning, between the dancer who dances and the dancer who speaks.
4ème Mur proposes to explore this relationship at the scenic border.
It's a duo, two dancers. They have known each other for a long time, are linked by a history which could have nothing to do with this show. And yet yes.
It’s a choreographic proposition that is being developed when the audience arrives. It's already started but it's not ready yet. It should be ready since they're coming in... But no.
It's simple: there is a stage with two dancers, and a room with spectators. We know very well that it’s on stage that it’s going to happen. And yet no.
It's as usual: the spectators settle in, it gets dark, and it begins. Afterwards we applaud.
Not this time. 4th Wall mixes the stage space and the audience space, mixes the artists and their lives, mixes dance and conversation, mixes the written form and that which will be invented live, mixes the show and the meeting time to become one. And in this ONE, there is a choreographic experience.
